Weather
The weather in Kerrville is pleasant - year-round! While summer highs can go up to 95 the winter lows rarely go much lower than 35. The summers are warm, but the nights cool down. Fall comes with mild days and cool nights giving way to winter usually the middle of December. Cold spells come along, but rarely last more than a few days at a time. Early morning clouds are frequent, but burn off to sunshine by mid-day.
Schools & Higher Education
Kerrville is served by the Kerrville Independent School District, which maintains four elementary schools (Tally, Nimitz, Starkey, and Daniels), two middle schools (BT Wilson 6th Grade & Peterson), and three high schools (Hill Country High School, Our Lady of the Hills Regional Catholic High School and Tivy High School).
Kerrville is also home to Schreiner University, a private 4-year college university which was established in 1923 by an ex-Texas Ranger, Captain Charles Schreiner. The school is consistently listed as one of the top regional liberal arts colleges in the Western U.S. by U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Colleges Guide. Schreiner University is also home to Greystone Preparatory School, one of the five federal service academies that offer up to 36 college credits.

Plenty to Do & See in the Kerrville Area
Kerrville and the surrounding Texas Hill Country have so many fun things to do that it's almost impossible to list them all. There's no reason to ever be bored in the Hill Country.

And, did you know that Kerrville is home to the only U.S. Olympic Training facility for shooting sports? The Hill Country Shooting Sports Center offers outdoor activities including skeet and trap shooting. The Center is open to the public year round when there is no training in session. In fact, at the Olympics in Beijing, China, several medals were won by shooters who trained right here in Kerrville!
Kerrville and the Hill Country offer a surprising range of arts & entertainment opportunities, including the Symphony of the Hills, the Point Theater at the Hill Country Arts Foundation, the Cailloux Center for the performing arts, Playhouse 2000 community theater group, and music festivals like the world-famous Kerrville Folk Festival and the Texas Wine and Music Festival.
